Speaking on our motion for the Government to reject the CRTC’s streaming tax increase

Today I stood in the House and spoke on our Opposition Motion to have the Liberal government use their power under the broadcasting act to reject the CRTC’s streaming tax increase.

This tax could result in less TV and movies being made in Canada and especially in Northern Ontario.

Aujourd’hui, j’ai pris la parole à la Chambre des communes pour défendre la motion de l’opposition demandant au gouvernement libéral d’user de son pouvoir en vertu de la Loi sur la radiodiffusion afin de rejeter la hausse de la taxe sur la diffusion en continu proposée par le CRTC.

Cette taxe pourrait entraîner une diminution de la production télévisuelle et cinématographique au Canada, et plus particulièrement dans le Nord de l’Ontario.
