The Icelandic Prevention Model is globally implemented through the Planet Youth organization which provides a structured framework to support the community implementation. It supports the health and well-being of young people to help create safer, healthier environments, “where youth can thrive – free from the risks associated with alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.”

Utilizing the Icelandic Prevention Model, Planet Youth implements a data-driven approach that identifies community-level risk factors to reduce youth substance use and other negative social outcomes, ultimately decreasing long-term health and social problems.

Le modèle islandais de prévention est mis en œuvre à l’échelle mondiale par l’organisation Planet Youth, qui fournit un cadre structuré pour soutenir son application au niveau communautaire. Ce modèle vise à promouvoir la santé et le bien-être des jeunes afin de créer des environnements plus sûrs et plus sains, « où les jeunes peuvent s’épanouir, à l’abri des risques liés à l’alcool, au tabac et aux autres drogues ».

En s’appuyant sur le modèle islandais de prévention, Planet Youth adopte une approche fondée sur les données qui identifie les facteurs de risque au niveau communautaire afin de réduire la consommation de substances psychoactives chez les jeunes et d’autres conséquences sociales négatives, contribuant ainsi à diminuer les problèmes de santé et sociaux à long terme.
