It was a privilege to attend the dedication of the IRS Legacy Project Monument, hosted by Sheguiandah First Nation on Friday. The monument honours the memory, resilience, and heritage of local First Nations communities while reflecting on the lasting impacts and hardships caused by the residential school system across generations. It also stands as a symbol of healing, remembrance, and the shared hope for a brighter future for all.

Ce fut un privilège d’assister à la cérémonie de dédicace du monument du projet Héritage des pensionnats autochtones (IRS Legacy Project Monument), organisée par la Première Nation de Sheguiandah vendredi. Ce monument rend hommage à la mémoire, à la résilience et au patrimoine des communautés des Premières Nations de la région, tout en nous invitant à réfléchir aux répercussions durables et aux épreuves causées par le système des pensionnats autochtones au fil des générations. Il se veut également un symbole de guérison, de commémoration et de l’espoir partagé d’un avenir meilleur pour tous.
